Kodaldhowa is a small beautiful village in the south west Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, India. Kodaldhowa Yogashram is very famous in the enire south west Garo Hills district. The Yogashram of Kodaldhowa is very ancient. Some saints were doing sadhana in this ashram. For a long time ago, Smt. Swami Nigamananda first came to this place and did sadhana. After him his disciple Shree mat Swami Yogananda came and he also meditated here. Later on came Swami Nityananda.
There are two main gates to enter this Yogashram. After crossing the first gate, you can enter the Yogashram only after crossing the second gate. An extraordinary feeling is transmitted inside the temple.There is a calm atmosphere all around. In this calm environment you will feel devine peace.
In this Yogashram you will find a small cave under the ground. It is known that Shrimat Swami Nigamananda did his sadhana here. Inside this Yogashram you will see the idols of Swamiji. That is why your mind will be filled with joy in such an extraordinary holy place.
Apart from this yoga ashram, Kodaldhowa village has a lake and a hanging bridge. Kodaldhowa is made with the shade of nature which will make your mind absolutely cool. Those who are thirsty for travel must visit these places. This place can be reached directly from Tura city of Meghalaya or Mankachar city of Assam.
